Binnacle Mount Compasses

A binnacle mount compass is one that uses a binnacle which is a small box or stand that supports the compass to raise it to a more convenient position. This binnacle mount style of compass is usually designed to be installed on sailboats at the steering pedestal, and it is attached by inserting the compass into a specific hole and then screwing in the screws horizontally. It is therefore different to a deck mount compass since it is not screwed down directly onto the deck. While therefore a little trickier to install, it looks a little better.
