Davis Rain Collector II

The Davis Rain Collector second edition has been designed to meet the guidelines of the World Meteorological Organization.

This rain collector is a self-emptying tipping-bucket design that has proven to be very accurate. It works by:

1. Rain enters the collector cone
2. The rain then passes through a debris-filtering screen
3. Rain then collects in one chamber of the tipping bucket
4. The bucket tips when it has collected an amount of water equal to the increment in which the collector measures (0.01" or 0.2 mm)
5. When the bucket tips, it causes a switch closure and brings the second tipping bucket chamber into position
6. The rain water drains out through the screened drains in the base of the collector

The Davis Rain Collector comes with a number of great features:
